About us

/ About us

We are a challenger foundation delivering public benefit on a business-to-business / peer-to-peer basis, using our skills and capabilities to advise communities and businesses to make them eligible for our customised sustainable investment and donation programmes. Our advisory service helps and supports communities and businesses to grow, showing them how to get investor-ready to benefit from our Ethical Capital Finance programme.

Mannheim Foundation ("MF") is a non-profit foundation for public benefit, and a registered Social Enterprise in Scotland.  We support the Fair Work First policy of Scottish Government and are commited to preventing Modern Slavery.

With ground-breaking expertise developed over 30 years, we are a challenger organisation in the world of public benefit investing and donations.  Motivated by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, the focus of MF is to support the health and wellbeing of the world's communities.

At Mannheim Foundation:

  • We create a long-term, sustainable, not-for-profit fund from core funds (capital) donated, invested, or lent to MF by external institutional investors, multi-lateral agencies (e.g. development banks), foundation funds or private investors.
  • We invest our capital, into certain secured investment opportunities or into capital-protected portfolios managed by independent asset management, banking, and insurance companies.
  • We use MF’s own surplus investment income as donation funding to beneficiaries sustainably over the long to very long-term in support of MF’s objectives.

Core values

MF’s structure, its objects and its mode of operation are based on its core values and our values of respect, integrity, collaboration, sustainability, and equality are at the heart of our work.
