Medical Doctor and Public Health Practitioner with extensive experience in healthcare systems in both developing and developed countries.

About me :

Dr. Rezaie is a Medical doctor and Public Health Practitioner with extensive experience in healthcare systems in both developing and developed countries.  She is a Founding Member of Mannheim Foundation, and currently also CEO.  Dr. Rezaie worked as a General Practitioner for 7 years in developing countries before obtaining her Masters’ Degree in Public Health from Glasgow University.  She also worked for 2 years as a Research and Development Manager in a healthcare setting, with special focus on hospital management and operations. 

 

For the last 7 years Dr. Rezaie has worked for the UK’s NHS within Public Health Scotland.  As a lead scientist in Scottish Surveillance programmes, she provided continuous support and advice to reduce the incidence of infections following surgical operations in Scotland. She is a member of the Scottish Health Protection Network which develops national guidelines for public health in Scotland.

 

Dr. Rezaie has an excellent understanding of health, its dimensions and determinants, and the challenges facing healthcare systems in both developed and developing countries.  In particular, the challenges caused by under-funding in those areas determining the health of the communities, for example, healthcare systems and education, inadequate medical facilities, lack of medical equipment and medicines.
