Supporting Fair Work principles, Prevention of Modern Slavery and Equal Rights

We believe all entities should strive to be good corporate citizens, and so we fully endorse the Scottish Government's Fair Work First policy to drive good quality and fair work in Scotland.  To this end we are now a registered Social Enterprise in Scotland and we fully endorse the seven Fair Work First criteria:

  • appropriate channels for effective voice, such as trade union recognition;
  • investment in workforce development;
  • no inappropriate use of zero hours contracts;
  • action to tackle the gender pay gap and create a more diverse and inclusive workplace; and,
  • providing fair pay for workers (for example, payment of the real Living Wage).
  • offer flexible and family friendly working practices for all workers from day one of employment
  • oppose the use of fire and rehire practices.

As an organisation we strive to embed Fair Work principles into everything we do as well as promoting them to our clients and beneficiaries.

As such, any business or organisation seeking investment or donation funding from Mannheim Foundation must also commit to Fair Work principles and practices, including acting to prevent modern slavery.

Through our Community Business Support programme, our advisory services to businesses requires and educates businesses on the adoption of fair working practices and the development of Fair Work and anti-Modern Slavery policies and statements.
