Housing is a Human Right: Modern Housing can protect against Climate Change

Having somewhere safe to live is a basic human right.  Having a safe place to live, with clean water and sanitation, and designed to incorporate modern technological features for energy efficiency and climate protection, improves the health and wellbeing of individuals and ulimately their communities too.  This is the reason why Mannheim Foundation launched it Social Housing Programme.

We can deliver innovative financing that just is not possible with conventional financial structures.  Although deployable in any country, our ESG-focussed funding model is especially suited for developing countries, where political, currency and other risks would not satisfy normal underwriitng criteria.  By comparison, our model utilises a unique structure which makes it possible to:

  • forgive the principal invested
  • recycle all surplus rental income back into more housing in perpetuity.

In addition, we can optionally use part of the proceeds to create a dedicated asset management fund to run in parallel.  The surplus investment income from this will be donated specifically to install climate protection features such as:

  • energy efficient / clean energy technology
  • modern insulation
  • water-saving systems

This is an exceptionally powerful model capable of delivering maximum ESG benefits to communities, governments and investors.  For more information, or to find out how to become eligible for this programme, please contact:
